Google Logo Contest In Dunbar School Student

A doodle called "Calculus Amusement Park' is putting Maggie Cook-Allen, a Paul Laurence Dunbar High School junior, in the running for a spot on the Google landing page.

Maggie, 17, is one of 53 state and domain victors in the eighth yearly Doodle 4 Google rivalry, a challenge open to K-12 understudies over the United States to update the Google logo.

Maggie's doodle, propelled by the subject "What makes me… me," mirrored her adoration for both science and craftsmanship.

"I didn't think I'd make it this far in the opposition," Maggie told the Herald-Leader. "I needed to make something that was truly fun. I know many people don't consider math fun, yet I do. The most ideal way I could consider doing that was to do an event congregation… to demonstrate an alternate part of math."

Individuals can vote in favor of their most loved doodle from among the state champs. Voting will be open from Friday to Feb. 22 at: Google.com/doodle4google/vote.html, and people in general vote will decide the five national finalists. One will be looked over every evaluation bunch.

Google will declare five national finalists, and one of them as the national victor, on March 21 — and the champ's doodle will go live on Google.com that day.

The triumphant understudy and national finalists will go to Mountain View, Calif., and meet Google's group of expert doodlers. The national victor will take home a $30,000 school grant and the school will get a $50,000 Google for Education award towards the foundation and change of a PC lab or innovation program.
