I Am : John Clare

I Am
Poem By: John Clare

The Speaker has the strong sense of loss and regret. He is highly frighted and disappointed.
The speaker has the strong sense of loneliness. There is no one in the world who knows the speaker and takes care of him. His life is full of sorrow and there is no one with whom the speaker his sorrow. People have lelting like a memory that is lost. He is so lonely that he has to live with his own shadow.

In the second stanza the speaker compares his life with the ocean that he has to cross and across. There is no any meaning and joy in his life. His ocean is full of scorn and empty dream. That is to say there is no one who respects the speaker sense. The world is indifferent to the life of the speaker the speaker wants to escape away from this indifferent human.
