Macbeth is commander-in-chief. He has the ambition of becoming a king himself Duncan is the king. Macbeth has made a deadly plan to kill Duncan in order to fulfill his ambitions. He is planing to invite Duncan to his house in order to kill him. Up to now Macbeth has not yet killed the king. This is the soliloquy in which Macbeth is thinking about the positive and negative results of killing the king.
If Macbeth is going to kill king Duncan. It is better to kill the king as soon as possible and if the action does not bring about any negative result, Macbeth will become successful in his plan. But Macbeth thinks about the next life to come. Sinner dies but sin does not. Sin will follow Macbeth in the next to come. One who lives with the sword is killed by the same sword. That is to say it is possible that some other man can kill Macbeth to become the king himself. It is because Macbeth has taught this lesson.
It is impossible for us to keep some thing secrete for forever. It is because human lip is poisoned. Macbeth is the host, the citizen and the king of the king Duncan. It is the duty of the host to protect the life of the guest. King Duncan is very popular, good ruler and the best liked by his citizens. When Macbeth kills the king Duncan, the News will spread over nation with in some minutes and their will be the ocean of tears. Macbeth compares his sinful action with the great nobility of the king Duncan. Their is only one thing which pricks his mind that is his ambition.
