  Winston is in his room. Through the window glass, he sees a poster of the man with a black mustache on the wall. Below the picture it is written that Big Brother is watching you. Big Brother is the symbol of the all powerful state. Which is all the time watching the life of Winston. Winston is just an example. There are the thought police. The thought police are the policemen employed by the Big Brother to look into the mind of people to find out what they are thinking. 



    A helicopter is flying over the roof and snooping the life of the people. It is the patrolling. A machine is installed in the room of Winston. The machine captures as well as transmits. The Big Brother has the power to put the machine where it likes. Winston is very much careful of what he says and what he does. Winston finds the situation very, very unpleasant and painful. What he says and what we does all is known by the Big Brother. It is the loss of personal freedom and the secret life.
